WebAsyst Projects and Files services are functionally integrated

webmaster — December 20, 2007

We have significantly improved WebAsyst Projects service. Now you can create a dedicated file repository for every project managed with WebAsyst Projects. On the main page of the Projects service we have added Files tab as it is shown in the sample screenshot below:

projects-and-files.gif

On the Files tab you have direct access to the main project’s folder. Here you can upload and download files, create subfolders, and organize all project files.

In fact, the Files tab actually links to the WebAsyst Files service associated with a particular project. All projects folders are also accessible from the main Files service screen and appear in a separate section  - Projects Files. Using Files service you can copy/move any regular folder from your Files directory to/from Projects Files section. It allows you easily to link files or entire folder to your project, or conversely, drag a folder from a project’s zone.

Access rights to all project folders are inherited from the project. In other words, you do not bother customizing user or group permissions for every folder linked to your project. Instead, all permissions already set for your project will be applied to the project folders.

Scheduled service interruption

webmaster — December 12, 2007

We are going to launch new MySQL cluster on the WebAsyst server on Friday, 12/14/2007. This upgrade will require turning off WebAsyst server temporarily from 00:30 am to 1:00 am EDT. You will not be able to login to WebAsyst hosted accounts at that time and access your services.

We will do our best to perform the upgrade as soon as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

WebAsyst will no longer work on PHP 4

webmaster — December 10, 2007

On July 13th, 2007 PHP development team announced that support for PHP 4 will continue only until the end of 2007.

We would like to announce that we moved WebAsyst applications on PHP 5 platform, and all future releases (upgrades) of WebAsyst software, which you can purchase, download and install on your own web server will no longer work on PHP 4.

If you use WebAsyst on your PHP 4 web server, please upgrade to PHP 5 before installing WebAsyst upgrade.

Switching WebAsyst to PHP 5 will allow us to utilize many PHP 5 advantages, and make WebAsyst more powerful, flexible and fast.
