Easy way to share files with others

webmaster — September 4, 2007

In our recent upgrade we have introduced a new feature that provides you with an easy and elegant way to share selected files or an entire folder with other people. Go to your WebAsyst Files account to select files you want to share, and click “Create a Link” option:

During file link creation step, you can choose how your file list will appear. There are four options you can select from:

Grid. Tabular format where file attributes appear in different columns.

List. Large icon along with file name and description.

Once your link is created, you can email it to any number of recipients. Or you can just copy/paste this link to send it using any instant messaging program, e.g. AIM or Skype. When others click this link, a web page opens up in a browser window that lists all the shared files in the format that you have chosen. By clicking filenames or icons, people will be able to open/download files that you have shared.

Every new link corresponds to a record in your WebAsyst Files repository. In case you would like to change your file list view, there is no need to recreate the link. If later on you decide to close access to your shared files, just delete the link - nobody who had previously received your link will be able to access your files anymore. These functions guarantee an easy and safe way to share your files.
