Improvements to User Account management
After the release of our WebAsyst Contact Manager upgrade in June of this year, we received a number of comments from our customers with regard to usability issues. This resulted from our replacing “user account” with “contact with user privileges”.
In particular, some clients were disappointed that we combined user and contact management into one Contact Manager application. For those customers who do not really need to maintain a contact database, but instead merely need user account handling in their restricted user community or project team, this change made WebAsyst user management more complicated
To resolve these situations, we have redesigned WebAsyst applications to make it easier for user account handling. However, we have retained all advantages of the new Contact Manager for those who handle user accounts directly from Contact Manager.
We have worked hard to resolve issues outlined above to enhance usability of our products. We are happy to release this new upgrade. Below are the key features:
- Users & Groups screen has been moved back under Administrator menu. You can use this screen to create new user accounts or new user groups, modify user/group settings and access rights, etc.
- Both Add/Edit User and Add/Edit Contact pages have been redesigned to display all user/contact information on one page with links to sections (e.g. Contact, Phones, Home, Business…) on the right-side bar.
- New menu item Administrator / Access Rights Diagrams has been added. It contains two access rights reports that have been moved from Contact / Reports section.
- Contact / Reports section has been improved by addition of another valuable report “Sign-Up Statistics” which shows the number of subscribers, grouped by date, who added themselves to your Contact Manager database using the Sign-Up form.
