We have significantly improved WebAsyst Projects service. Now you can create a dedicated file repository for every project managed with WebAsyst Projects. On the main page of the Projects service we have added Files tab as it is shown in the sample screenshot below:

On the Files tab you have direct access to the main project’s folder. Here you can upload and download files, create subfolders, and organize all project files.
In fact, the Files tab actually links to the WebAsyst Files service associated with a particular project. All projects folders are also accessible from the main Files service screen and appear in a separate section - Projects Files. Using Files service you can copy/move any regular folder from your Files directory to/from Projects Files section. It allows you easily to link files or entire folder to your project, or conversely, drag a folder from a project’s zone.
Access rights to all project folders are inherited from the project. In other words, you do not bother customizing user or group permissions for every folder linked to your project. Instead, all permissions already set for your project will be applied to the project folders.

On July 13th, 2007 PHP development team announced that support for PHP 4 will continue only until the end of 2007.
We would like to announce that we moved WebAsyst applications on PHP 5 platform, and all future releases (upgrades) of WebAsyst software, which you can purchase, download and install on your own web server will no longer work on PHP 4.
If you use WebAsyst on your PHP 4 web server, please upgrade to PHP 5 before installing WebAsyst upgrade.
Switching WebAsyst to PHP 5 will allow us to utilize many PHP 5 advantages, and make WebAsyst more powerful, flexible and fast.

We have introduced another AJAX features to our WebAsyst Photos services. You no longer need to open a new page to add or edit your photo description. Simply click anywhere in description area to trigger edit mode, as shown in the sample below.
When you click the Save button, your new description will be immediately updated without reloading the entire list of photos.
NOTE: In the previous version we had separate Title and Description fields. We have now dropped the Title field and retained only one field. This allows photo description editing to be more straightforward and usable. In order to save user data, we have merged old titles and descriptions into the new Description field.

We have launched a new web service — WebAsyst Shopping Cart.

This service allows you to create your own online store and integrate a shopping cart feature into any website (blog) using widgets. We invite everyone to try our new service! It’s free.
Here is an example of how WebAsyst Shopping Cart allows you to embed an ordering function directly into this page (it adds sample product Apple iPhone for $399 to your shopping cart):

If you click this button, iPhone will be added to your cart and you will be offered to checkout. Shopping cart page will be shown directly in this page content.
The WebAsyst Shopping Cart was developed on the basis of Shop-Script - another software product from our company.
Currently WebAsyst Shopping Cart is not available as downloadable software (only hosted version is available). We are developing this option, and plan to introduce a downloadable version on February 2008.

We launched our new web-service WebAsyst Shopping Cart!
Now it is open for everyone. We invite you whether to test our new service or to start using it.

WebAsyst Shopping Cart is a web-service for creating online stores that we created on the basis of Shop-Script PREMIUM shopping cart software. Today WebAsyst Shopping Cart offers more features than Shop-Script. Everyone can subscribe for WebAsyst for free and get dedicated online storefront instantly. Detailed description of the new service is on its website.
When new version of Shop-Script will be released?
We have been working on Shop-Script to make WebAsyst Shopping Cart service for over an year now. During this time we significantly improved Shop-Script and made major changes in Shop-Script kernel. We plan to introduce new version of Shop-Script on February 2008. New version’s features will be identical to WebAsyst Shopping Cart’s.
We will offer free upgrades to new version of Shop-Script to all existing Shop-Script clients (both PRO and PREMIUM versions).
One of the major improvements in Shop-Script that we made during the last year is update technology that will allow us to release updates quickly and easily. Much time was spend on this
After you switch to the new version, you will be able to install updates smoothly - you will not have to worry about changes in storefront design you made (unless you make critical changes in your store functions and look&feel) - new features will merely appear in your store backend, and you will decide whether to use new functions or not.
Now we will be making a downloadable software package from today’s WebAsyst Shopping Cart web service. We will do our best to make it installable on servers with various configurations, and to make upgrade process for you as smooth as possible.
Thank you for your patience and for awaiting for new updates. If you are interested in the upcoming Shop-Script, we encourage you to subscribe for the new WebAsyst Shopping Cart and see how will new version look like. We will be publishing news regarding new version’s development process in this blog.

We have improved the Add Contact and Edit Contact forms using AJAX. These forms now work much faster without reloading contact list page.

For new forms we have added a Fields… button which you can use to customize visible fields in contact information records; e.g. phone numbers, addresses, notes etc. You can specify filled fields (i.e. that contain some information) to be always visible.

When adding/editing contact information, there are enhanced validation and error control functions. Fields of the Memo type (e.g. Notes) have dynamic height: it means they “grow” if you add more lines to your text, as illustrated in the sample below.

We have also redesigned Delete Contact function utilizing AJAX, and it now works without reloading the entire contact list.
