Publication Themes in Quick Pages
Published March 15, 2006
We have released WebAsyst Quick Pages upgrade. Now you can create Publication Themes separately from Books.
Publication Theme defines look and feel of the published version of your QP book. You can design a theme using special editor that allows customization of colors, fonts and appearance for every section of the published book, e.g. Book Header, Table of Contents, Page Body etc.
WebAsyst Quick Pages software package is delivered with a predefined number of publication themes. You can easily modify any of existing themes or create a theme which satisfies your own preferences and unique needs.
Every theme can be applied to an unlimited number of books designed with Quick Pages. It gives you a great advantage: now you can publish all content developed with Quick Pages consistently in the same format as your branding. To do so, simply create a theme that utilizes your corporate colors and style, or place your logo in the Book Header section. Then you can apply this theme to all books. You no longer need to customize every book separately.
For hosted solution customers, no action is required in order to upgrade your WebAsyst account. All changes have been applied automatically during the upgrade procedure we have implemented on March, 15 06:15am EDT.
Open source customers can download new version for FREE. To do so, please login to your WebAsyst Customer Center account: http://www.webasyst.net/cc/login.php
AFTER UPGRADE:
- Click Administrator / Users & Groups in the main menu.
- Select group or user for which you want to give a permission to create/modify publication themes.
- In Modify Group/User form click Access tab.
- Locate Quick Pages / Publication Themes line.
- Turn checkbox ON.
- Click Save button. Now this group/user will be able to see Pages/Publication Themes main menu item.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Upgrade procedure transfers all customized versions of your published books into separate themes. You may now revise them to void using duplicated themes.
- Book published previously as Plain will be transferred into Tree with default settings. To retain Plain view for these books, you must create new Plain theme and apply it to all such books.
