WebAsyst host server: recent breakdown

Published February 15, 2006

Recently we experienced an accessibility problem with our main host server where hosted database accounts reside. The problem was caused by an incorrect reconfiguration of networking equipment that occurred after a regularly scheduled hardware upgrade.

Sequentially we had two time intervals when the server was not accessible: 1) from Feb 08, 7pm EST to Feb 09, 2am EST and 2) from Feb 10, 7am EST to Feb 10, 11am EST.

During these breakdowns, our staff worked continuously to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, and we successfully restored server accessibility and stability.

It is possible that you did not even notice this breakdown because it occurred during non-business hours EST. However, we at WebAsyst find such downtime unacceptable. We consider reliability and security of our customer databases as number one priority issues. Because of this, we are analyzing all technical details in order to identify the root cause of the trouble and to take actions which will avoid a recurrence.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience the breakdown may have caused you, and we hope for your understanding.
